Anyone out there with a koolkut kk116 vertical saw
if so would it be a good buy for a signmakercolin

I purchased a ZapKut after last years Sign show, after talking to the sales guy/owner of the business. (Actually, to be correct, Geoff bought it for me, as a ‘birthday’ present, in the hope that it would stop me asking him to come to the shop to cut down the bigger boards for me!)
Anyway, frame arrived, circular saw purchased, all downhill from there.
The saw didn’t fit in the pre-defined slot, so another plate was made (No specific instructions were given for saw specs).
Then the cross-bars were in the wrong place and had to be cut down.
Then, because I didn’t have a permanent space for it I had to move it outside for every use, but it had to be re-aligned every time, as it didn’t want to remember that it was levelled last time.
I spoke to the salesman/owner, who had no help to offer, seemed to wash his hands of it.
Then the owners wife called, to see how I was getting on with it! She didn’t stay on the phone long.
I then gave up, as Geoff has tried and failed to sort it out on several occasions, and here it now stands, a pile of junk getting in the way.So, basically, like I said earlier, cr@p.

would be good to hear of other users experiences to see if they are similar to yours Lorraine – to be honest I looked at it but wasnt convinced so am not over surprised by your reply

Glad I went for the Keencut then 😮 These guys have also been calling me for years now trying to sell me one but opted for the SteelTrak instead due to good reviews here, am yet to take delivery of it but sounds like I made the right choice anyway.

I too bought a Zapcut. Ours is in a similar state to Lorraine’s but that is down to us not getting round to getting it set up properly. It is on the long list of jobs to do.
In hindsight I wish we had just bought a steeltrack or similar but liked the fact that when set up you can cut horizontally with these too. I will get round to setting it up eventually but the kind of work we have been doing since buying it doesn’t require the regular use of it so it isn’t a priority.
Will give feed back when we do finally get it set up

Steeltrak for me as well, does the job well without any major problems.
