  • Camm-1 CX-24 Sensor Error?

Posted by Jayden Woodward on 2 July 2014 at 18:24

    Hi Guys

Wonder if anyone has come across this before and could help how to fix it

When I power up my Camm-1 cx-24 the plotter moves about an inch to the left then comes up sensor error.

Can’t for the life of me figure out how to fix it

    Thanks in advance

    Jay

Well if it is a sensor error you need to locate the problem sensor & replace it, you may find you can get away with either just cleaning it or if that doesn’t work try disconnecting it altogether, if you disconnect it & get the machine cutting you would still be better off replacing the sensor in the long run but it may at least get you working again while you wait for spares.

Are you sure it’s the back one which I am guessing is media end. Could well be one of the sensors for measuring the width of the vinyl, sorry never owned a Roland plotter so not sure how to dismantle it without seeing it.

Does the holder move up & down freely by hand with no power on the machine? If it’ then it could just need cleaning.

Yes I can press the holder down no problem just will not move when cutting

The errors you describe I used to get when the sun hit the sensors. Hadn’t happened since I moved units, until one day I opened the blind behind the machine. I knew what it was, closed the blind, not had an issue since!

Hope this helps, before you dismantle the cutter!

Thanks for the reply, it looks like a wire had come loose in transit and was causing a couple of problems for me.

Took the front off to pushed it back in and it seems to be working well
