Just a quick question, i have a friend in the motor trade who can get me a great deal on a W Reg Citroen Belingo Van.

My question is does anyone on teh boards own one and if so what are they like? He recons they are better than the combo which is my first choice as i do like Vauxhalls.

    Any views are very welcome

    Hi Paul

I have a berlingo for the last two years, it is a excellent van , it has never given me a days trouble. It is good on juice and it is very comfortable to drive ….

If that is the size of a van you are looking for look no futher..

    Cheers

Thanks Richie, yep thats def the size of van i’m after, i think the combo is a little smaller so price for price the Belingo def wins out

    Mort,

I have no experience myself, but I have a lot of clients who do. 😀

I was speaking to one this morning, she is responsible for a fleet in excess of 1,000 vans of this size, so I put your question. In her experience, in order of overall value, which includes purchase/lease costs, total cost of ownership, reliability/down-time etc she ranks them…

    1. Berlingo/Partner
    2. Combo
    3. Kangoo
    4. Caddy

She made the point that the equation can often be skewed by any special deals that may be available from manufacturers at any given time but, if you are buying used, then this probably won’t affect you except insofar as the ones that give her the highest residual values are the ones that are going to cost you more to buy.

I drive a 53Reg Kangoo, its the Plus model (That means u get side load door, elec mirrors/CD player) also paid extra £100 to have the colour coded mirrors & Bumpers.

Takes about £30 to fill the tank & will get 380-400 miles on that.

Service intervals are 18k…yes 18,000 miles.

    its a 1.5 DCI engine… 80bhp…Drives very well.

    With VAT it was £9300.00
