  • bulk ink for cadet / questions?

Posted by Graeme Speirs on 13 April 2007 at 21:09

    hi,

I have been speaking to a rep that past few days re digital supplies and also with view to supplying bulk ink cartridges, the added incentive is that they will provide an annual service on my cadet (initial 1yr warranty up in 2 months anyway) as well as free maintenance etc so long as I use them to supply ink. does anyone use the refill system at all and are there any issues. This is a reputable firm and the price and service sounds very good.

I had hear of issues if the machine wasn’t constantly running?

    many thanks

Nope, pretty sure I only have to commit to using them, don’t want to name them in case I ain’t allowed!

    Hi Graeme

Sorry to sound negative but I don’t think that you will get this deal without committing to a monthly ink spend with them.

If you won’t use your printer much it may well be cheaper to buy a maintenance contract to make sure you are properly covered.

    Cheers. Nick.

graeme, if you only have to commit to using them alone, and not someone else, and not commit to a monthly usage, its sounds like a good deal, if not a bit unusual. 😉

in terms of the heads, it depends on the inks, some inks need to be used everyday or so, or the heads block. easiest thing is to do a test print each morning, and it will be sweet.

I’d check the fine print tho, because the only way the company can justify your maintenance, is if they can look back and see they’ve sold you enough ink to cover their expense. They only have to replace a head, and the profit is out the window if you have purchased a minimum amount for the year 😕
