    Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help me? I have a problem with magnetics at the moment, I print the graphic on avery 2000 on a mimaki jv3 then wet apply to magnetic sheet. After about two months the customer comes back in with what i can only describe as bubbles all over the printed side of the vinyl, when I pop these they are full of water. I have now had 4 sets of mags come back like this, i have been making magnetics for over 15 years and this is the first time i’ve had a problem any ideas anyone? I’m obvoisly going to make my next set dry and apply through my laminator to see if that helps but if anyone has had similiar probs and found the cause it would be great to know whats causing this. Cheers Jo

Welcome to UKSB’s. It would be good to introduce yourself in the hello forum, people more likely to get involved if they know who you are and your background..

I’m not familiar with the Avery 2000. Is it laminated?

Pretty unusual that it would have water under it after 2 months…..

What is your mix? just soap and water or one of the mixes available like rapid tac?

I only ever do mine dry on the ezy taper, but if they were out in the sun, moisture should evaporate after a few days.

    Bit confusing really

    Welcome again

    Hi Jo

I had this same problem a while ago, but it was water actually getting in behind the white coating of the magnetic itself. Try lifting the print, see if the water is under there or not-you may well find it’s the mag that’s at fault.
You have just reminded me that I haven’t heard back from the supplier about this….

Hi thanks for the reply, Iv’e found out what the problem is, the magnetic supplier KPMF has said sometimes when they apply the vinyl to the magnetic roll they do it wet and if there is any water left behind thats what happens!! oh well they are going to exchange the roll any way, thanks again, Jo
