Terry does it have to be the “real thing” because metamark do a brushed alluminium vinyl “looky likey” that you could put on top of foamex and then letter .mmmm 😳 😳 ude have a hard time engraving it though

if it doesn’t have to be the real thing, you can buy leboard from europoint, an 8×4 foot sheet of brushed ally leboard is about £40 now that’s cheap and has a snazzy finish to it. i haven’t tried engraving it yet but because its made the same way as di bond “sandwiched” once engraved it will expose its black core so no need for back-filling with colour.

will you be doing the engraving yourself mate? if not, most engravers will hold brushed ally sandwich board in stock anyway… i don’t know who we buy our engraving laminates from but if you don’t have luck by Monday ill look it out and post the details.

Rob, I asked Europoint about this the other day and was told they did’t do it, so I had to quote useing Dibond(twice the price).

I will need to phone again on Monday to check.

    nah dave… they do… give’em a shake mate… 😉 they are messing you about mate. 😉 😀
ask for cameron, explian you are UKSG and you are after some. nice bloke and will kew
    eep you right. 😉
so far, my only grumble about leboard is its limited clours etc, but great substrate none the less. 😉

I did something similar for someone ages ago – used brushed aluminium vinyl, and for the engraving ( which was only thin outlines ) just used the cutter on a light weight setting so it didnt cut all the way through – looked pretty convincing.

If you want the real thing – You could try “one to one engravers” in northampton 01604 644604. They do all the brushed stuff. Suppliers of the door sliders too. Excellent quality, and very cheap. Easy to work with and always give 30 days to pay.

    Cheers,
    Cheryl
