    Hi,

Im putting together a quote for a sign tray approx 5m x 1.2m with a couple of features. Logo to be fret cut into the tray, opal acrylic and back lit.no problem there. The company name is then going on the remainder, however their font is "Brush Script. Money isnt limitless, so was looking at a modular design that can be added to.

Company name to be built up/moulded lettering stood off with the ability to be halo lit if required. Depending on cost and the customers final agreed budget the halo lighting may be included or fitted later.

    Any suggestions

    56 views and no response 🙁 .

Basically after advise on how a "Script" font can be handled, as i don’t think individual letters are ideal.

Would flat letters suffice for halo lighting or is a boxed/formed 3D letter preferable?

    Hi Graeme,

I quickly read your first post and didn’t really understand the question 😕

Script lettering should be welded/ joined with no breaks after the capital letter, and for led purposes should imo, be built up, to protect the leds even though you can get water proof ones.

The Company name would be have to be cut from a continuous length of material and then bulit up,

I am having the words Nails in ‘Sarah script’ on a sign in built up s/s with leds so I guess Brush script wouldn’t be a problem

Again Applelec would be able to price you on that and would be able to advise, ask for Sam or Zoe

Hope this helps answer your question

Fantastic Martin, just what I needed to hear. This is to be 3 words with a 15 letter count! should keep the individual build size down.!!

Graham, I recently got some letters cut in 20mm clear perspex and had the edges flame polished, putting transluscent vinyl on the face, I had the letters fret cut out of a tray, I then glued the 20mm letters to a background of clear prism acrylic and popped them through the fretwork, so when the prism lit up it splayed the light out in an amazing way.

It looked far better than moulded or built ups and I did not need to use leds, just standard tubes, got all the bits from brimark on merseyside, they did a smashing job and very robust finish

Brush script can come in 2 variations, one joined and one as individual letters. So not to big a problem.

I think Brush script in individual letters is a definate no go, it’s a poor enough font as it is but in unjoined letters it looks pants.

must be joined Graeme to stand any chance of looking half descent,

    imo 🙂

Brush Script in individual letters to me always looks a disaster. Horrible type face to start with anyway. I try to avoid using it at all. It always makes an ad look like a burger van down Skeggy! 😕

    Thanks for all the replies…..

I had no intention of spacing individual letters and yes it is a horrible font……….but my hands are tied in its use as its their existing logo!!!!! 👿
