  • Boat graphics/wrap – help required, please?

Hi everyone. Just joined, have 10 years experience in the game, have been running on my own for 5 years now, 2 years in england and 3 years in Finland. Dont ask, its a long story 🙂

I have a job which i am trying to get my head around. A boat hull. Its a small ish fishing boat, 7 metres long, 750mm hull height. The customer wants waves and logos on the side but i cant decide which direction to go with, full print with wrap vinyl or 900 cast for the waves then add the logos seperate. My issue with the wrap is the shape of the boat at the front, and although the wrap will work with the shape, it will be hard to know how the wave design will sit. 900 is whether i cut the wave in sections and apply or use the wrap cut tape and hand draw the waves then flood over the top with 900 vinyl.

I have very little experience with wrapping and have never used wrap cut.

I did do a boat last year and added a carbon fibre line down the side and used kpmf which work ok but this job is much bigger.

Anyone that has knowledge or done a job like this your help would be much appreciated.

The name slips me but there was a forum user who did something on his own boat and posted some picture here for everyone to see….

    I’m sure someone will remember

Hi james. Yes im pretty sure i did find that conversation, it looked great. His was flooded with images and nothing really had to flow, unlike waves if that makes sense. If it was one large busy print then i would cover the whole thing and not worry too much about where things end.
