I have just tried firing up a machine which has been off for the last six weeks after a head soak, the black yellow and cyan seem to be printing okay with a nozzle check bu the magenta is not working at all at the moment and there is a gap in the fuel line near to the ink cartridge.

Can anyone advise how I could fix this, is it simply just unscrewing one of the ends and syringing out? Should I just inject some cleaning fluid into this line or replace with new? Or just blow air through it with a syringe??

    Thanks
    Jason (currently covered in ink)

remove the cover infront of the capping station. do a head clean and the switch off machine.
Take the pipe off between the pump and the capping station that corresponds with the magenta head.

suck through ink , if it’s not blocked it will pull through.

if it is blocked. try this. " at your own risk, but easy enough to do"

Tell machine to do a wiper change.
when it has moved to the centre of the carriage, switch off at the plug.

Remove the cover at LHS of machine. mark where head is sitting ( so you can return it to the same place when finished)

Slide the print head to the LHS. this will give you access to the heads.

take a small piece of mirror and look at the head to see if there is build up etc.

Using a lint free cloth, soak in cleaning fluid. and hold on the head for a few minutes. ( fingers may turn white !!)

LIGHLY rub over the print head, and arround it.

    Repeat a few times.

    It should clear it.
when it looks clean, move back to centre and switch on plug, and start as normal.

    Hope this works

Apologies for the late reply Ian, thank you for the advice. I have left the machine for today but will attempt to pull the ink through in the morning. I filled the capping station up with cleaning fluid and soaked the heads for a couple of hours and that seemed to do the trick for all the other colours, a few dropped nozzles on the black but I think with a few more cleans it will be okay.

    Regards

I think I have the magenta ink through now but I had to unscrew all the pipes and suck it through with the syringe. All went well up to the point of removing the pipe from the top of the head, all went back okay but I now have E068 Error CR Encoder, can anyone shed some light on this??

I’ve been on this all day trying to sort it out, a bit frustrating now. I should add that it is a machine which we have recently acquired and was switched off for a number of weeks and do not have a maintemce contract on it. All the other colours are firing okay?

Or were until I had this error.
