If home is local to work you may have intermittent broadband.
Check thus:
Open a command prompt or type "cmd" with no quotes in the "Run.." on the START menu. This brings up what used to be know as a DOS window.
Then type "ping yahoo.com" on the command line (the only place you can type). It will ping 4 times for that site and report back each time. If no connection the test will take a couple of minutes.Otherwise my guess is you are running Vista and possibly third party toolbars.
Google might help with this problem.

I am running XP. It seams like a problem with Bitdefender 10 as it is now happening at work as well as hope on different machines and different internet provider.

Martin is bitdefender a recent install? It might be that you haven’t set the trust level for you broadband connection devise.
You need to set the connection as safe or the firewall on bitdefender won’t allow you full access. -
No all these things are set correctly it only happens after about 15 minutes of use. I have searched Google and it seems a lot of people are getting this problem since updating Bitdefender 10. I now have this problem on three computers.

Strange Martin, I have been running bitdefender for years and never had any problems, have it installed on Desktop and laptop at home, on 2 laptops at work which run off a mobile broadband connection, it’s on 2 of my Kids laptops that don’t live with me and I know they use a different ISP.
They are all running the latest version and are all fully up to date. Will have a look about though if you say that others have reported problems as you never know I could be next :lol1:

I think it seems to happen when using Firefox it starts on that, then if I go to IE that won’t work either, but if I use IE first it seems ok. I have just removed Bitdefender and installed AVG on the laptop to try for a couple of days and see what difference that makes.

Maybe that’s why I haven’t had a problem Martin, I don’t run firefox at all and just use IE.
