Firstly Hi, my first tentative steps into vinyl cutting.

A colleague recently acquired the CM300 which he first lent to another friend to set up. Seems that guy’s a total imbecile an has totally ruined what was a perfectly good protection strip about 8 inches from the origin.

So I’ve took it off him and have managed to get things going but the strip needs replacing ASAP. Other than that it seems to be working fine. After a lengthy search on this wonderful forum I am learning fast so I’m going to get some new blades from Edward Mathias (they are literally 20 minutes down the road).

Despite my best efforts searching on this forum I can not find a definitive source for the cutting strip/protection strip.

    Please advise.

    Many thanks,

    Mike.

xpres do them, about 6 quid I think, in fact anywhere that sells roland blades should sell them.
    Try Grafityp.

Oh and they generally call it a "cutting strip" thats from my experience anyway, failing that Roland should be able to supply you one.

    Thank you too!

I’ve mailed the two that Steve suggested so hopefully Monday I’ll get it sorted.

Got a couple of eBay vinyl purchases to have a practice on before I start buying from the proper suppliers.
