black text has fuzzy edge on my sp 540 is it static ?

The problem I’m having is when I’m printing heavy black text I’m not getting a crisp edge to the text its as if the print head has a bit of fluff under it and is scraping along the text well the ink is still wet , Ive done a head clean with solvent and a bud and Ive now even lifted the print head up but still not 100% Ive tried to change print mode etc as well I’m really wanting to print at 360×720 but it seems to be worse at that than it is at 720×720, after the 360×720 has 2 head passes and the 720.720 has 4 head passes, I’m thinking its maybe static? but if it is static whats the best way to reduce the static ?Regards

We get the same on our RS640, it’s always just been fine fluff on the black plastic parts to the left and right of the print heads – even though the heads are clean. We just swab them off and then its OK.

I have checked that out before i posted and did as you say swabbed it although it was a bit better Ive now lifted the print heads and seems a bit better again and then i slowed the scan speed to 350 and that seemed to help the best , its as if the print head is a fraction out when it spays and shuts of again or a static thing maybe Ive been printing onto jac vinyl not sure if that’s anything to do with it but i doubt it to be honest ?Kev
