Thanks guys. I think someone at Victory Design must be looking in, cos I just had a call from them, black reflective, 610mm on offer £4.36/m!
It’s for my use, so quite happy! :lol1: -
You could also try Paperco …. especially as you are UKSG member you probably have an account with them?
Grafityp also do it?
😀

Well there you go…you learn something new every day.
I always thought black reflective vinyl was a contradiction of terms. I never realised there was such a thing as black reflective vinyl 😳
So what colour is it when it reflects 😮

Thats exactly what I thought Phill. We’ve made road signs for over 20 years now, and the only reason we print black is to make that portion of the sign non-reflective. I’d be interested to know what colour light shines back at you too.

I done a van in black reflective few years back.
I think Brian is right with dk grey reflecting back. Good question though
can’t remember for sure.I seem to remember the vinyl up close had a very dark brown look to it
rather than jet black.Lorraine that’s an excellent price you got!
🙂
Just seen Peters reply, looks like it reflects as white.
The van I did was white hmmm.
It was for a massive lighting company and they were adamant they had
black reflective. -
Lorraine,
Only recently joined the forum and found the postings quite informative, so I’ll try and be the same. All Print Supplies in Slough (tel 01753 696977) do a black reflective in 3 different widths 610 @ about £6.00 a metre on 5 metres.
I used it on a car for Ford Motor Co some years ago, it reflects white. If you apply it to a curved surface you can get an effect where part of the image is black and part of it white, if that makes sense? it gives some very strange effects.
Best of luck Steve Morgan -
Hi all, it’s been interesting reading the replies (welcome Steve, thanks for your info).
I hadn’t heard of black reflective, but one of the members posted pics of their truck which they had signed using black reflective, and I have been waiting for an excuse to use it ever since!
I am going to put it behing some flat-cut lettering which will be lit at night. I don’t know at the mo what the effect is going to be, but should know by Monday when hopefully it will be up!

Orange colour if you use nikkalite. Not sure on the rest.

just my two bobs worth i have used black reflective many times on Police vehicles they use it on the roof 😮 not a mystery really all police cars have a code number on the roof so that police helicopters can id which car is chasing the villain. (:)
