Jim, yes there is such a thing but just remember if you are going to use it that at night it shows up as a sort of silvery white so if applying to a white van can easily get lost at night and not do the job it was intended for very well.
Try the usual suppliers for vinyl, can’t remember where I used to get it from but I think it was Hexis, I do remember Europoint didn’t do it at the time but they may now.

Gerber (3M Scotchlite) makes it.
It’s black (looks almost like a very dark grey) but it shines white.
I only buy 3M reflective.
I did dry the Oracal engineer grade but sent it back, it was to brittle and crumbly to weed!

when using it on a white surface you put a matt black outline around text

George, meant to say that in my previous post as that was what I use to do as well, you don’t really see the outline during the day unless you are up really close.

Most vinyl suppliers do it.

It’s brilliant stuff for making the number plates for my bikes with.

It looks right during the day but, give it a flash from a speed camera, and all they get back is white numbers against the yellow plate. Much harder for them to read. 😀

i used it many a time on police car roofs for there call sign during the day a helicopter can pick the number up as its black on white and at night if the helicopter uses there search light the number is then reflective thus the matt black outline 😉

There are a couple different manufacturers of Black reflective. As it’s been pointed out, most reflect white. However, Avery is one brand that reflects more of a gold color.
I normally wouldn’t use it or recommend it, because I’ve had failures with it. But sometimes is more appropriate.

I think we got our last reflective black from Vinyl corporation. 3M for sure.
And yes, it does work great as number plate numbers. But,,, the boys in blue don’t like it at all………….not at all 😉

Oh yes, used it on recovery vehicles and it does work a treat. Almost forgot 😳

Avery makes it along with 3M. I don’t have the 3M item number but the Avery is A7805-R. I don’t know if its just me but the Avery Black reflective seems a little thicker then the rest of the colors in the A7 Reflective group. I had to cut it about 20 grams more pressure then the other colors.

Just to add to the list of manufacturers, LG do a black reflective. I think all reflective ranges have a black in them nowadays. I get mine from Cherwells in Brackley.

I usually get my reflective from Euopoint, Nikalite, nut they don’t have black listed.
