  • Best way to do this? window graphic

    hi all,

have an internal window graphic to do. approx 10ft x 2ft it has a full colour logo/image to be used. I planned to print this section in clear (reversed) on my cadet and then fit vinyl onto the glass for the letters (black and dark grey text using 751 vinyl) then cover the full section in white vinyl to make it all stand out? Is this the best way to do this job?

Or, should I print the logo and black/grey text in one full 10 x 2 section on my cadet and then cover with white? Im worried the black and grey will look a little washed out vs vinly letters?

Hope this makes sense and would appreciate some advice.

    many thanks

I’d choose printing the lot and cover in white. Lower costs and installation time.

I have had window prints done before with large solid black areas, reverse printed on clear and laminated on white, black was fine and easy to apply.

If you not sure about the black just do a test print but there are way to print a stronger black and you should not have a problem.

I have access to a UV flat bed machine its a Vutek it has white inks. Most white inks i have seen are pathetic but this one is amazing because the UV inks are so hard and solid the white is incredibly strong. IT has the ability to print into clear SAV using the flowing method. Prints colors then flood prints white behind. and then if you want it can print the colors on top again. Almost create a double sided decal. Maybe you can inquire if anyone has a machine like this in your area. The one i use is in Capetown bit far for you 🙂

Hope this helps. Would be your best option. I pay equivalent to 20pounds per square meter.

That’s not a SA flag under your name? Capetown? I’m confused 😮

    Im in botswana.

My printers are based in johannesburg 5 hours from botswana.I outsouce my larger work to south africa.
This is where they have a 2000mm wide UV flatbed as well as a 3000mm wide full solvent machine. They have an aditional branch in capetown which has a large litho press plus a new 2000mm wide UV flatbed with white inks. So when i need white inks they ship it up for me. It
takes about two days to get here. Botswana is very small so we rely heavily on south africa for our big printing. There is no market for machines of this scale. hope this explains it.
