    Forgive me as I’m not sure if you have an engraving machine but;

    Why not create the shape and using engravelab create a toolpath using multiple passes to cut it out?

    Thats what we do for these anyway – engrave the text and borders etc then just cut right through.

    Hello Andy, Yes I have Gravograph M40G, My problem is my client wants 2mm thick brass and engraved both sides, blah blah blah,,, I would rather get these ovals made to perfection, as they are for a high class interior designer, I’m sure the machine would cut the ovals, but I still don’t have 2mm brass, I think it would be easier to get them pre-made, what machine do you have ? would it cut 2mm brass

    Suregrave and I think Mastergrave will. Prob with brass is that you only tend to have one side with a guaranteed finish. These could be bolted together using wall studs and threaded bar.

    We have a suregrave 2516i, we have 1.5mm bright polished brass. You can get it bright polished both sides but needs to come out of the mill as a special order. Sure you could get 2mm the same – wont be cheap though.
