best felt squeegee recomendations

think it really comes down to preference mate…
i tried and tested a great many at one point… some seemed better quality than others but in the end, as i said, came down to what i liked using most and often differed on the type of application i was doing.
e.g.
i mostly use Oracal felt squeegees, but i do this because i like the thickness more than others and in some cases we are only talking a few millimeters of a difference to others.
however, Grafityp squeegees seemed to be better quality of felt. softerer, finer felt and the squeegee had a nice elastic sort of twist in it. Grafityp offer two thicknesses the thin one is good for wrapping but feel the thicker one is a bit thick. as an all rounder i use the oracal one, but i think it would be good if i had best of both worlds… oracal thickness using the grafityp felt.

of course the 3M gold is a clear winner in nylon squeegees but the NEW avery nylon with felt is a nice option for wrapping with, but again, this too has a downfall and that is that the nylon is too soft so its difficult to get the correct consistant pressure doing flat panel areas of a vehicle.

anyway, i could go on and on… maybe i will start a new thread on this later today. 😀

I got some new ones (unmarked) from my Metamark dealer, sharp square edges and quite hard. Amazing what a difference they have made to vinyl application! I hadn’t realised how well-used my old ones were.

I swore by 3M gold for years…then switched to Avery blue (with felt) and never looked back.

as i said, i do feel it comes down to self preference. but i personally am really not keen on the Avery blue David…
the felt wears quickly. the nylon feels cheap and stiff but main reason for not liking it is that the felt falls short of the edges of the blade so you can mark the vehicle/sign with it when applying in swiping/cutting motion… as i said, it is maybe just my self preference here but that’s what i found when testing.

Been using the Grafityp felts for a couple of years, had no problems so far with them. As to the thickness the large ones are chunky, but I have big hands and find them easy to work with.

Been using the Hexis ones lately. They are thicker than the Oracal ones and seem to allow one to be a little more heavy handed 😳 Seem to be lasting well too, which is a bonus.

i have been using the mactac and just lately the grafityp which i prefer
although i have also been using sgueegees with felt stuck to one edge
just ordered some felt sleeves to see how they go
as most have said it comes down to personnel preference.
although i think you get used to something.so good to get others input and to try some different ones

ive been using europoints felt for years, but bought stuff from jag sign supplies, simply because I was able to order online, and their delivery was spot on next day…and their felt squeegie was slightly tighter and sharper and didnt round too quick, I like this one 😀

Always use Spandex orange ones, Nice and solid. Just face one edge with the soft side of stick on velcro which comes from the £1 shop.

The boys here prefer 3M Gold with a bit of denim cut from and old pair of jeans stuck with double sided tape to one edge.

It depends on the job, of course, but, as an all-rounder, they say that Wranglers are better than Levi’s. 😛
