  • What are the best CMYK colour values to achieve royal blue?

Posted by Hugh Potter on 3 December 2020 at 17:03

As per the title, I’m looking for the best CMYK values to match something like Oracal 551-057 Traffic blue, any suggestions gratefully received and tested.

    Thanks
    Hugh

I know this is 970, but the same one?

I am sure I have the colour values for this on our Pallet. I will have a look in the morning Hugh, and post here.

      Hi Rob,

Yes, pretty much that, a good strong blue, I have a good range of light and dark blues that I’ve made myself and added to the palette but getting decent mid blues is hard!

      Hi Rob,

I don’t suppose you’ve had chance to check yet?

    Hi Hugh

Sorry for the slow reply mate, but we are chocka-block busy just now and I forgot to check earlier today.

Please see attached photo taken next to a printed sign we did, alongside the Oracal 970 Traffic Blue. It’s not an exact match to the 970 but it is close and gives you a nice strong blue for things like Healthy & Safety signs etc.

    RGB Colour Values are:

    R: 255
    G: 0
    B: 0

    Printed on HP Latex 360.
