Banners- do you ever laminate?
Hi all, its come to my attention that many of the banners ive been supplying are actually being used as longterm signage. Not really what i expected as i see a banner as temporary, say max 2 years in one place.
Does anyone laminate their banners or give this as an option? Guessing you use the liquid lam if so.
How well do they then hold up?
My banners that have been up over a year now show very little fading.
Using eco solvent mutoh btw. Thanks

Mr Sheen will make a banner last longer, really worth a try if not done so already.
But…banners are temp signs and I always sell them as that, if they do want to last for a couple of years sell them another!

I second Chris, if you sell everlasting banners, why should a client ever go the extra & buy a quality long term sign? I always ask how long they expect the required sign to last, any longer than a year & they get a laminated print onto composite & get charged for it.

Totally agree guys. Seems customers forget their initial purchase requirements.

Even worse is when some clown walks into the unit with some old banners he got from somewhere and asks if you can re-letter them.
I kid you not, they walk amongst us :rollseyes:

I always laminate them. When I drop them off at the stitcher to get stitched and eyeletted they are dragged across a table with all sorts of debris on it, and they end up with large scratches across the print.
They are also folded up and thrown in the back of a car to get taken around to shows.
I dont do it free of charge, so whats to lose? -

We still get that one occasionally, 15 year old vinyl to be removed before changing a date or time. Funny how my quoting pen suddenly weighs as much as fence post when they come in nowadays.
