hi friends .ive got a banner to do for a public girls boarding school .They’ve been a pain in the a***e to be honest and constantly change things. They’ve got there own marketing company who keep changing the designs i email them but dint seem to come up with any answers themselves .Sorry I’m getting off the subject here .They now want a piccy of the school with lettering across it .What would be the best way to do this ? i kinda envisioned the school kinda "ghosted" in the background with the lettering running across it .which means the school would be a didgy with the lettering being vinyl .Would that work ?open to your suggestions

That would work Brian, however, if your going to go down the digital route (which you will need to for the picture) then why not just print the whole banner and cut out the labour of applying vinyl!!

    Chris.

yeh chris thats what ithought . Problem is i suppose that the vinyl lettering will stick out like a sore thumb .But if i got someone to print the banner would i get the ink to match the vynil colour .This lot are so fussy its just the kinda thing they would pick up on

We’ve put vinyl onto a printed banner in the past (changeable dates etc.) and I can’t say that it stood out like a sore thumb!

Was just trying to save you the labour if it was going to be printed anyway.

I would insist on having to stay overnight in one of the dorms for research purposes.

This would greatly enhance the ambience of the banner and give you a better feel of things.

Besides you’d get to see their art class (Sorry, marketing department) in action.

    😎 :lol1: 😮

I don’t think the vinyl lettering would stand out too badly.
The "artists" would probably like it that way anyhow.
I am going to nag you tho Brian…
    :nagnag:
Why would you cut something before it was approved?
Or even worse, why would you let them change something afterwards?
    Tsk tsk.
I just hope you made them aware that the changes will result in additional fees.
That’s how I usually shut up "artist" clients.
Works on committees and bitchy customer wives too.

your right of course Jill …but in my defense the lettering is fine and exactly what they want. Its just theve decided they want a piccy of the school in the background …..to put it blunly they all seem like a bunch of snotty a***d kids a lecturers that couldnt organise anything .As for cost ive already told them there would be additional charges .The biggest laugh is that the banner i delivered yesterday was just for an open day ….thats it just one open day and it took them a month to decide what they wanted on that 😀 😀 😀
