  • Banner problem – pockets

We have been requested by a customer for a banner which is straight forward except the customer wants pockets fitted to the banner so that they can slide a laminated A3 sheet of paper in with the sponsors name which will change on a regular basis. There are to be 4 pockets like this on the banner. We suggested that we could put the sponsor in vinyl and change it as when required but the customer wants to be able to do this themselves whenever the occasion arises which could be once a week.

My solution at the moment is to use clear banner material to make the pockets with an area the same size as the A3 paper to be doubled over on its self and allow a 50mm overlap on 3 sides to stick to the banner.

Is ths the best way, any other suggestions.

    Hi Dave,

We did something similar a little while ago, the customer was raising funds and wanted to change the total using 4 A4 pockets.

We approached a local Tent repairer, who sewed clear to the banner as pockets (the same stuff as used for tent windows), worked well.

    Hope that helps!

    Chris.

    Thanks Chris,

Hadn’t thought of that. Sounds obvious really, will get on the phone now.

I recently did a banner where the pocket (clear plastic) was sewn along each side with velcro, with the other velcro obviously on the banner. If you are in a boaty area you could try a sailmaker
