  • Banner Printing with pigment ink????

Posted by Ezekiel Ikhinmiwn on 9 July 2010 at 11:43

    Hello all

    Another newbie type question 😕

Can I print a banner with my pigment ink printer? and if so Is it possible to seal this with laminate to give it a longer life span?

I’ve been introduce to a liquid lamination recently which is better in the opinions of the professionals

I know this is probably quite obvious but If I don’t ask I will never know so they say.

Thanks kindly for any responses 😀

Well what printer what inks? I’ve heard anything from 3 months to 2 years with pigment inks. Pigment material will be more expensive. What are you trying to achieve?

    Thanks again Jason

well I’ve been asked to print and replace a full colour banner approx 70 by 30 inches thats hanging outside of a building. I’m using a HP Designjet 5000 with their (UV) pigment inks which are said to be for out door use. The old banner does look like PVC as opposed to polyester or canvas seems. The job seems fairly straightforward – I just dont want to print an ang something that will be coming down in a few months 😮

Any Ideas or advice would be great ???

    Thanks All

Its prob going to be alot cheaper to oursource to a printer who already have the material and uses solvent inks. Down here you can get banner pvc printing wholesale for like $15 a square metre. your not going to purchasing pvc banner material for cheaper then that. Plus you’ll need to finish the banner as well with hems, eyelets and maybe ropes.
