Hi Guys, We are getting our Mimachi Printer soon and want to get into the banner market, can any of you recommend a banner material supplier. We want to do a budget and also a premium banner for indoor and outdoor use. Will be getting an eyelet machine but how do you hem your banners is it stitch or is there a glue/weld that can be used? Obviously want to keep price down……..

    Thanks for any help

Thanks for the info Rob. Unfortunately cannot get the link until I make my membership full! How do you do your banners? Weld or stitch? Am looking at an eyelet machine £95 incl dies. This seems pretty reasonable on others that I’ve seen. Have not got our printer yet but I am assuming that ready made banners with eyelets will not be printable?

WE heat weld/fuse our banner hems & joins, but in most cases, we use banner hemming tape. we never stitch…

yeh, you really need to buy in digital banner media prior to hems etc being put on it.

have you downloaded and installed the UKSB TOOLBAR?
if you have, on UKSuppliers drop down, look under "banners, flags, bunting, canopies" and you will find a whole list of suppliers of eyelet machines and the like.

Rob, on the toolbar, under banner hemming tapes APA is listed but goes to the APS website

    Hi Tracey,

Have a look at this link from Jag.

    http://www.jagsignsupplies.com/aqshop/c … php?id=294

We buy the Hemming tape an power tab system. Finished product looks good and we’ve had no one come back with any torn or faulty banners.

    Worth a look.

Andy, where do you get the oracal banner tape from – done a search but only coming up with the USA………ummm just a tad too far me thinks!!!!!!
Its a fab price compared to the others out there.

Gonna order a HP400 Eyelet Setter from Atwells on Tuesday its on special at £95.00 – does this seem ok?

    Tracey

Ahhhh one more thing – what size eyelet would you suggest getting?

You’ll get it from Robert Horne Tracey, if you struggle to find it with your local branch speak to the Glasgow one – they hadnt heard of it till I requested it but they were saying they sell rolls and rolls now.

For your eyeletting machine give John Preston at DTP supplies a ring, we have their H901 eyelet machine its self peircing etc and DTP are very good on prices. We use a 13mm nickel plated eyelet on the banners.
