    Hi all
I need to put some graphics on some plywood butted up against each other. The whole sign measures 6000mm x 2400mm.
This will be a temporary sign for about a week, after which the plywood need to remain in the original condition.

I wanted to apply banner material as vinyl will be a problem to remove at a later date.
my question is how can I affix the banner material onto the plywood. I think it’s too large to just have eyelets all around the perimeter, the middle section will tend to sag.
anyone ever tried using a staple gun to hold it in place with normal school type staples?
I need to affix it in such a manner that you can’t see the fixtures from the ground but strong enough to hold it up for a week.
    Any suggestion anyone?
    Thanks
    Clive

Not sure I’ve got this right but if you are talking about a free standing double sided sign that you need to put a banner on each side of. One option could be to weld or banner tape 3 sides of the banner and put it over the ply and cable tie it together at the bottom through the eyelets.

Have you had a problem at that size before or is it a tricky location or not a flat surface?

I’ve fitted a 10m x 2.5m banner that stayed on a building site hoarding for around 12 months without a problem, there were several of us to fit it so we could get it taught so that wind wouldn’t get underneath it.

How did you hold it flat against the substrate?

I have stapled a banner into wood before, works very well!

All we did was pull it taught and fix with a screw and washer.

You can create a little extra tension by placing the screw on the outer edge of the eyelet to push the eyelet towards the edge of the banner.

It wasn’t as taught as a flex face sign, if you’re really paranoid at that size what about using lengths of wooden batten around the edges to create a frame. Or how about strips of clear plastic across the middle with a screw through in to the banner.

If all else fails and you think it’s dangerous then don’t be afraid to tell the client it won’t work and it needs to be composite hoarding board to do the job properly.

    Good luck!

I put up an 8.5m x 2.5m banner on the end of a factory with cirrugated cladding, it was secured with tech-screws on the outer eyeletts only and sat upon the end of the factory for almost 2yrs….

don’t panic over a few days! a good quality banner will last that.
