Banana Banner
Posted by Kate and Danny on 15 June 2005 at 10:12Hi
Has anyone used the Banana Banner vinyl?
Can you tell me if its a good product. I see the weight is a lot less than other banners available, will that make a huge differnece? Thanks Kate

Yeah we use Banana Banner. It’s OK for certain applications. But I wouldn’t sell it to someone who thinks it’s going to last for ages outside in the wind.
Short term banner- no problem.
Indoor Banner – no problem.
Outdoor or long term we get banners made up with ropes sown in, stronger eyelets, heavier weight vinyl.Hope that helps. 🙂

Exactly as Scozzie says, I use banana banner material quite a bit when customers need a short term banner in a rush. For long term banners or customers who are not in a rush, I use 650gsm heavy duty banners.
Applying to it is virtually identical to other banners except it has a pronounced texture on the surface which makes it look a tad less attractive to me, but when someone wants a banner yesterday, you just cut it off the roll, apply some banner vinyl and they’re happy as Larry’s brother, Harry 😀
Cheers, Dewi

Hi Kate
I’ve used a considerable amount of the Grafityp version of this product.
It’s fine for short term work indoors and out. The area around the
eyelets is liable to tear in strong winds. We also use std vinyl on them.
We do loads of banners and would recommend a good quality 610-640
gsm if it’s going out for any length of time, The banana banner will be
around 344 grms.
They are a great idea ie, cut them to the size you want but as said I
would use them for short term work only.
Hope this helps.Martin

I love bandanna/banana banner stuff but it is really only for short-term use outside, inside it’s great.
But hey, aren’t banners only for short-term use anyway?

)Jill,
We’ve done a load of banners for community groups, sports clubs, art societies.
They use them once a year at their annual fundraiser and then roll them up (sometimes the show me how they fold them up 😮 😮 ) until the following year.
