A colleague pointed me at this site http://www.getdropbox.com – I’ve tried it and it works well, basically for syncronising files with multiple computers over the internet. My use is for files from my work computer in the shed and the work computer in the house. I’m using the free version.

Thank you thank you thank you, I’ve been trying to get my mac and pc to link for a while now since I upgraded to Leopard with no success as I just have no idea how to do it, been using a USB stick to get files to my pc to rip them to the printer and this software does work very well.

    thanks again for posting.

    cheers

I agree. I’ve been using DropBox for about 6 months or so. It definitely really helpful when working on the files from different locations. It’s also much easier to use than trying to set up your own ftp site.

    Hi,

Do you have to install dropbox on all computers eg. laptop at home then workstation at work? 😕

No, you can access them from a web interface through a web browser also. The only catch with that though is that you have to have an internet connection to do that.

As Simon says you can do it from a web interface but if the software is installled all round AND on line everything automatically syncronises or if the computer is not switched on will syncronise when it does go online.
