    Hello All,

I’ve a bit of a problem with the identification of some Avery Vinyl.

A few months ago, we had a terrible time finding a vinyl that would stick to a polyurethane coated plywood we use. We only found 2 types that really cut the mustard. The first was a ‘too expensive’ cast vinyl from 3M (100 series, I think) and the other was a much cheaper vinyl from Avery. There wasn’t any rhyme or reason as to which would work during our tests. One of the more expensive cast vinyls literally fell off within 24 hours, while some relatively cheap Grafitack stuff did quite well.

Anyway, the Avery vinyl we found worked best was a small ‘roll end’ that had been lying around for ages. Trouble is, we don’t know what it is and need more 🙄 .

I’m not trying to find the exact colour, just the series of vinyl. All I’ve got to work with is a bit of the backing paper, on which the Avery Graphics logo is printed in light grey.

Does anyone know how to identify this vinyl’s type?

    Cheers,
    Andy…..

Usually, Avery vinyls have a number printed on the backing. If you can find a
bit that still has the number on, this should identify it.

    Thanks Jamie,

As luck would have it, I’ve just found another bit left over from the tests in a pile of rubbish :lol1: .

Fortunately, it does have the number on it so the mystery is over!

Unfortunately, it’s Avery 900 series and not one of the cheaper ones I thought it might be 😥 .

Nevermind, at least I know it works.

    Cheers,
    Andy…..
