I have purloined a 8 line moving message machine that was set up about three years ago but never used because of the way it was configured.
It was wired to run off a network but the network in question was very little used so neither was this machine. Anyway…now it’s mine and I want to get it up and running BUT the problem is: It takes a telephone plug which fits in the machine and the other end has a plug on it that plugs into a modem. Can I get a lead that will run off my com port and has a telephone plug on tuther end? I ask this question on here rather than asking it in some computer shop and having some sixteen year old’s wetting themselves laughing at the old geeser asking stupid questions! 😳

you can get a serial to rj45 (think its called rj45) converter plug, just looked at mine to make sure that is what it is.
a lot of phone hand sets have to cable you want going from the handset to the phone. but don’t know how they are wired .

mine connects the serial to box of tricks on my car

Dave are you sure it is a telephone connection on the message board and not a network connection, the two of them look very similar.
