  • Arial Rounded query

We have been asked to produce a draft layout matching Arial Rounded font. No problem I thought until I started looking and realised that although I have Arial rounded BOLD at least 6 times, the standard weight font is illusive to say the least. Can anyone help with a substitute or link? I don’t really want to have to pay the thick end of £80 for a draft!

Colin can you get away with text in bold – then inline the text and lose the outer bit if that makes sense 😕

Hi john, tried this but because the font isn’t even thickness it results in some parts almost disappearing when thinned down using the inline method.

I eventually found a light extended form of VAG which when I squash up does a fair impression for now, but the right one would be better.

    Cheers

Helvetica rounded may be closer to Arial, as Arial was originally made to
look very similar to Helvetica without getting sued.

    Cheers,
    Jamie.

Thanks Jamie, but I could only find this in bold too.

The laugh is that I have been following an example of the sign which is clearly arial rounded regular but when I checked the guidelines again it specifies arial rounded MT bold! So now I have to check back with the design dept to see which is correct.

    Thanks anyway.
