    Hi Folks,

A bit puzzled really, are there sensors in the pinch roller lever on the camm 1? My machine stopped mid-cut (very annoying!), and when I set it up again kept getting the message "Er: bad positin" (?).

Did the usual things checked roller positions, cleaned sensors etc, made no difference? Then tried setting with the rollers up, machine decides to work again! Now did I get lucky or are there sensors in, or connected to the roller lever? If there is it would explain it, and I can open up the machine and check connections etc. If there isn’t I can leave well alone. Or in the words of the old saying ‘if it aint broke, don’t try and fix it’, have caused myself headaches in the past not heading that advice!

    cheers in advance, Spooky

sounds like the media had slipped and missed the sensor at the back. This can happen if using an odd-shaped offcut.
Also the pinch rollers have to be actually under the white strips on the rail. Even a fraction over the edge and you get the error message you describe.

Thanks Lorraine, I did check all those things and all was as it should be? After I first posted I did notice that the screws that hold the pinch roller lever were loose, so I’ve now tightened them up – hopefully that will have solved it? One thing that is for sure with machinery, is that if it can go wrong, it will! 👿
