that looks nice roy, i could only find it on the jap site thou is it big enough to intergrate with your cadet but basicly unless you are pushed for cutting caperbility the cadet is bigger and as fast

hey Chris how you doing,
I’m looking at this plotter to replace my cm-24 that’s getting a bit past it, i still use my 2` cutter as often as the cadet at the moment so i guess its a fair investment.
I’m hoping there might be one set up at sign UK though ( that’s if i can focus through the massive hangover 😮 )

Ive just bought a GX-24 cutter, to say Im impressed is an understatement.
we only bought it to cut flex and T shirt transfers but we have it doing vinyl now signs too, the engineering thats gone into it shows you where youre money went for sure, its not cheap but it is one of the best out there, we bought ours from xpres and that included a tech guy coming down to set it up and show us how to use it for half a day, he even gave us all corel lessons as we hadnt used that before.
If you dont need print and cut and can make do with a 24″ wide cutter then Id get this its so fast and precise its great.
I have quoted for 3 jobs with it and already made most of my money back on it.
I only found a couple of places selling it and both were the same price so I just got it from my sublimation supplier, it cost £1639 inc VAT with a spare blade and a few consumables thrown in. -
I just had a quick google, the roland seems a bit expensive, Graphtec may be an alternative 610 plotter ant under a grand now?

I looked at all of them, I phoned all the companies, and even managed to get some unbiased views from some people and the general consensus (especially mine) is that you get what you pay for, I may be biased towards Roland as Ive been into music for 20 years too and just know their reputation in that industry.
Also I notice that the Graphtec has no auto registration mark detector (magic eye) which you have to buy at £200 + vat which is included with the Roland.
Just get 2 web pages open with the respective data sheets/features etc and put them side by side then you can decide whats best for you, personally I needed the magic eye thing so that was a big factor in deciding. -
Steve, that is my feeling as well, I always research any new purchase, and make up my mind based on the facts, and my needs. Roland (not sure if the are the same co that make keyboards) Graphtec Summa and mutoh are all good makes, price for price there is very little in it. I have had several makes over the years, latest purchase was a graphtec fc 5100 750.
it has an optical alignment facility, but at the end of the day, as you say, you pays your money and takes your choice..Peter

Roland DG are the same as the instrument maker yes, thats what sort of made my mind up a little as well, just like Yamaha, Korg, etc they are one of the best keyboard manufacturers out there
they have a few companies under their wing
# BOSS (guitar effects pedals, effects units, rhythm machines, recording equipment)
# Edirol (Desktop Media Production or ‘DTMP’)
# Rodgers Instruments (electronic and combination pipe organs)
# Roland Digital Group (printers plotters etc) -
I have mine since Dec. 3rd.
It’s been cutting everyday flawlessly and working great.
I got the best Deal on mine, I won it, but i’d spend the money for one again.
Now, the only thing i have to compare it to is my other 24″ that i’ve had for 5 years, a VEUltra Pro T. That cutter worked fine as well with no problems, but the GX 24 is faster and more accurate.
I paid $3700 for the VEupt in ’00 with flexi, so they all came down in price since then. Here you can get a new gx24 for $1800 – $2000.Again I haven’t used many, just my other one and a couple of gerbers, but I’d recomend it, I’m very pleased with mine.
