……….you never know what your gunna get. Well I dont!

Looking for some advice on Best types off application tape, do you use clear? are there special types for if you need to role-up your vinyl?

I noticed on one of Robs demo’s "the 7.5 tonne truck" you had your vinyl with application tape tightly roled in one hand whilst fitting part of it.

Now I had been using clear application tape up, untill recently. The problem I had was on very cold days. I’d get to wherever i was doing the job only to find my vinyl with application tape had wrinkled – – well not realy wrinkled… I supposed the application tape had shrunk slightly!!

This proved applying the stuff very difficult whilst trying to maintain UNCREASED results.

Seeing Robs demo I thought thats great! I should’nt get these problems with shrinkage… and as an added bonus it will make transportation a bit easier!! ( I drive a Golf, so room is a bit scarse ).

Well I get on to my supplier asking for there advice – End up with some "Transtec 100n" Cut and applicate some 2000 x 610 graphics for customer, roll them up nice and tight, and make for destination.

On arrival I find everything which has been rolled is severly creased!!!!!
Hmm.. Managed to get it looking not to bad, with alot of hassle. I suppose it was slightly better than the clear stuff I had been using, but nowhere near as good as expected….

Any Advice would be greatly appriciated

    Hi….
Hey, are you remembering to roll with the graphics side out?
That is how I do it, and I rarely get those wrinkles.
Now my face is another story! 😳
I mainly use R-Tape, but last week my supplier sent me a roll of
Transfer-Rite by American Bilt-Rite. Man is it nice stuff!
I have had NO luck with clear tapes. In theory,
they seem like a great idea for aiding in the registration, etc.
But in practice, they are not for me, because I usually apply wet.
    Love…Jill 😉
    PS
I thought life was like a box of chocolates!

    Hi matey

R Tape is the best I find for “graphics on the go” . Its lays flat and never creases or rolls.

    I get mine from KPMF Direct for £57.97 log. 0870 121 1285

Give it a try matey I find its great

Yeah I had rolled with the graphics facing out, but that was just a lucky
    guess! I’ll deffinately give the R-tape a go, I assume £57 for a 1220 roll?
(actually a bit less than what Ive been paying), do they cut it down for you? Ohh Jill I dont see any wrinkles! You must have touched that pic up very well before sending it off!!

I send a lot of lettering Mail order and I use the cheapest tape that Cherwell sign supplies do, approx. £48.00 per log, Cut to size as well included in that price, and have had no comeback on it at all…..

    Hi Mate,

    mod-edit

I have turned off the file size section, so if they were too big I would have refused them.

    Please try that addy again.

    Thanks Evo
