Hi All, can anyone help me here. Been fitting manifestation for years and still trying to find the perfect app tape.
Have used R tape with conform which goes stringy, oracal which I love for vinyl is too grabby and thick.

    What do you all use?

Need to get an order in soon so thought I would try something different

R-tape here. Mainly use Ritrama PTA as etch film which grabs well wet or dry.

Never found a good paper app tape that comes off clean when wet.

We never apply anything wet regardless of size.

Oracal Application tape for us time and time again… tried so many over the years and just revert back to it.

Absolutely hate clear application tapes! :banghead:

R-Tape conform High tack (RTA 470 "I think") always works a treat. We done 300Sqm last month with quite an intricate design all dry. I’ve never done a wet install so couldn’t comment on how good it is wet.

Metamark have sent me a sample roll of applitape high tack today so will report on that later in the week.

3M SCPS 53X for hi tac
    3M SCPM-3 for low tac.

Wet or dry, doesn’t delaminate and doesn’t go stringy.

wow thanks all. Installed 180m last weekend and promised myself to look at another brand.
Rob, I agree dry on the smaller stuff but I do a lot of large area work and its just quicker to go wet when there is no cut outs involved.

Guess samples is a no go so will try all and let you know

The clear app tapes are used with clear-backed vinyls for multi colour registration. Although there are better ways to register colours.
I dont like it much either – mainly the sound of the squeegee as it scrapes over the surface. Like nails on a blackboard!

Hi Simon, where do you get yours? 283.00 per roll

3M SCPS 53X for hi tac
    3M SCPM-3 for low tac.

We use ImagePerfect Medium tac paper app tape and is just fine.
I apply both dry or wet with signgeer application fluid.

When apply wet, if you have small or intricate design you need to move quite quickly and precise. If the fluid gets between tape and vinyl it starts going wrong.

Chris I am in New Zealand, so I am not sure the supplier will be much use to you.
Anyway it is Total Supply in Christchurch.

That sounds expensive! I am not sure I have ever looked at the price! I will check on that tomorrow morning.

I find some of the cheaper tapes, once they are cut into widths, sometimes start tearing from the edge as you pull them out. This is a disaster when you have a setup like mine, the rolls are mounted horizontally and pull out along the length of the table over the top of the vinyl.

I guess nothing is too expensive if it makes my life easier and quicker to do. Might give it a go.

On another note I have found a solution to getting the old stuff off real quick
    $this->BBvideo_pass(‘$8’, ‘$4’, ‘$7’)

This had been on for years by the way

image perfect vinyl remover. Crap on paintwork but fab on glass. Roller on and leave for 30 mins.

goes like latex! Just don’t drip on the carpet

    Chris
The price here in NZ for the 3M app tape is $276, which is about 128 pounds for a 1220 x 91 meter roll.
