I can’t figure this one out, but when I save my work on one of the Macbooks and I choose the folder from the drop down menu at the top, I also have a recent places list but this machine only displays four where as the other machines display about 10 recent places, does anyone know how to adjust this?

Apple menu > System Preferences > Appearance.

Towards the bottom, number of recent items, where you can change applications, documents and, the one you want, servers.

Thanks John, unfortunately that’s not what I was looking for, it’s only available when you try to save or open a document and you can choose a directory from the top of the window, hope that makes sense, can’t seem to upload anything.

That’s it, I’d like to increase my recent places list, can’t see that under appearance just adjusts the menu under the apple menu?

    Jason,

Doesn’t the recently used files list get adjusted in the preferences panel of the individual programme you are using?

For instance, in Word, it is specified in Preferences > General > eighth item down.

Hi John, sorry this just increases the list at the bottom of the file menu in Word, it’s quite frustrating I thought I knew this operating system quite well, we are using Tiger on the other machines and this gives us a longer list I can’t seem to backtrack.

    Regards
    Jason
