  • APA wrapping material – my experience.

Hey guys, a few weeks ago i had a call from APA offering a huge range of services. I for the first time bought a full roll of wrapping material… they assured me it was as good as or better than their rivals 3M, Avery etc… so i bought it, as my usual suppliers dont do that colour. I had a good go with the APA stuff and initially it seemed ok, but it soon became a problem. The material was weak and the adhesive was pulling away from the face film and leaving almost like stretch marks on the film. I wrapped most of the car in this, spending a day, until i noticed a few faint marks. I thought they were reflections off mirrors, but was infact the white from the adhesive sheet that was coming through from where the adhesive came off!!?? i ended up stripping the car and calling APA. they werent much help and offered a wrapping course..but i didnt think this was good enough, as id never had a problem like it before and it was my 10th vehicle, with the same application… i ended up taking it on the chin, and choosing a different colour from Hexis, which was as always perfect for the job!:) So no major drama, but id check the material out first next time instead of listening to a rep!

Sorry Ben but I would have taken them up on their offer. Having seen the quality of your work I would like to know what they can do with their wrap films that you obviously can’t :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

Latest batch of jobs look just as good as all the others you have posted by the way.

    What colour was it Ben?

Not really used APA for a while but all manufacturers have problems from time to time, . Had issues with both 3M and Avery in the last year, its how they deal with them that matters and APA clearly haven’t been up to scratch here.

I would at least expect some investigation and asking for batch numbers etc.

i had exactly the same issue with APA with their yellow shade….

I have wrapped several vehicles none with issues, however thus one has created nothing but issues…..

So i will not order or offer there swatches to a customer again.
