  • Anyone out there using LG vinyls?

I’ve recently switched to an LG vinyl which is a 7 year. It’s good to work with once of the backing tape but getting it off is a bit of a nightmare and very time consuming. I’ve got the blade set good on the cutter and it peels very easily, but when l go to lift with the tape it just won’t do as it’s told.
I used to use the apa 5 year elite range as l was happy with the price and was reasonably happy wih the product, l never had any bother removing the vinyl from the backing, you could whip it off no problems.
So l suppose l’m asking if anyone else has problems having it off!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 (!)

    Billy,

Dont know if you saw the recent posts on this film ? I think the reformulated range is a much improved film. I tried the old stuff a few months ago and had problems with weeding and as you say its reluctant to come off the release liner. I think its two fold – because the face is a bit satin and so the tape doesnt grip so well and also the silicone paper just seems less “non stick” than other vinyls. I guess this is just a characteristic of this make, they are quite new to the field I believe so may improve the range again ?
Personally I prefer to pay a bit more for a different vinyl and (hopefully!) not have too many probs 😀

I used a little of it about 18 months ago – apple green – don’t remember where it came from, but I agree with the comments already made by the lads above.
Personally I didn’t like it – it was very difficult to weed and seemed very thick and brittle.
Stick with (no pun int.) oracal 651 & 751 and you won’t go far wrong.
    Cheers

try vinyl logostics, they are doing JAC, 4 years or 8 Years at really good rates, cuts, handes & performs very well. CAll them & speak to Jane for samples. &this is supposadly to be avery).

I used to use LG, but stopped due to difficult handling, plotter skidding problems & poor performance afetr application.

Like Joe I use oracle range from europoint, tried a sample of LG that I got at the sign show a couple of years ago but wasnt to impressed.
Oracle cuts and weeds well, they have a good range of colours and as a full UKSG member the discount you get makes it even more appealing.
and no Robert isnt paying me commission.
