anyone know of this font
Posted by Deleted User on 20 October 2005 at 07:23hi everyone,
do any of you know of a font that makes each letter look as if its made up of dots so that you weed around it leaving the dots in. Ive been given a disc to work from, the only problem is the disc was designed in quark express on an apple mac and i cant open it on a pc so im having to redraw the whole design. Either that or do any of you know how to convert a mac file so it will open on a pc? Again all help appreciated.

Try this font, its a long shot.
As for Quark files, aren’t they compatible with Pc’s and Mac’s? Don’t Quark files open in either format, just like photoshop?

There is the file that a member, Barnabus Rhumpf (spelling) had used a while back called PottyOs.ttf which is made up from small to large circles.
Could this be what you require?

Deleted User20 October 2005 at 08:44hi andrew, yes mate that looks like it, now another question how do i get it to open in gerber composer or word so i can convert it
-
With the Gerber software you should have a True Type Font Convertor.
Load the ttf font as normal and open the True Type Font Convertor and then convert the font. If you already have composer open, close it and re-open for it to read the new font. -

Deleted User20 October 2005 at 08:59hi dave, you must think im stupid, never done this before, how do i load the font. I downloaded it and saved it to a folder, but its not in my true type converter list for me to convert it.

Go to control panel, select fonts and in that window, select “Install Font”.
Then go to the folder you saved it in and install from there. -

Little tip Dave, get yourself a notebook that has an a-z index down the side and when you find out how to do something, list it in the book.
i.e. under “F” – font install, font convert etc.
I have used this many times as the next time you need to do it may be six months down the line and you’ll sit there for half an hour thinking “I’ve done this before but how the kinell did I do it?” -
David, I purchased this from the net the other day after getting 5 disks full of MAC .eps files that needed printing urgently. I run a PC so this was a life saver. Each conversion worked brilliantly, and I was printing on my PC within 15 minutes! 😛

Got the same programme but I was stuffed when someone sent me a quark file as it doesn’t covert them.

Sorry mate, just tried to convert a quark file myself a minute ago. Doesn’t like it at all. 😥
