  • Anyone know of a value for money rip for hp latex printers?

Hi guys, buying an hp25500 printer, just wanted to know what RIP options I have available.

The only one I know of at the moment (recommended) is onyx… But it seems to be really expensive, however I understand it’s the Bentley of rips..

I’m aware that wassatch and Shiraz may work..

Does anyone have any advice for a value solution? Not the cheapest (unless its a good performer) but what’s a mid range good rip?

    Cheers

Try before you buy , you can get. 30 day trial onyx RIP that doesn’t spoil the prints , cost is about £68 , I think others offer something similar but you get a image on the prints to prevent re-sale , could try the best two then ring around for the best price.
Don’t accept RRP , there are deals to be done.

I had Onyx on trial with William Smith/Art Systems for 30days… you cant download it you have to sort something out and get a dongle.

To be honest, Onyx is heavily profiled for the L25500, the other rips may run it but colours are important on this RIP and Onyx does drive the Spectrophotometer which is used for fine tuning profiles.

Yeah,it seems that it’s the only one capable of running it properly…. I have a chance of a used copy with done at £700 I think I better grab it

    Cheers guys
