I’m trying to incorporate this logo for my customer into a flag that they want. The trouble is, when I designed the logo it was to go onto a sqaure or circle backing, not a rectangular flag! The flag height (between the tow hooks where the flag would tie) is 48". I’m not sure about flags but should the height of the actual flag be less tall than the points that it ties to ie 46"??

Anyway, here’s the drawing and I will upload the file to all those who want a bash of "re-jigging" it… He want’s just big INDY Car sales!!

    hope you all can help!

Gavin, who says the flag has to be flag shaped ? Why not just make the flag a square, problem solved. As for the size I’m afraid I cant help but if you gave Trounce or Banner Box a call I’m sure they would be able to tell you.

    hi gav
i havent done much to your design other than alter it a bit..
i dont think the phone numbers will be seen on a flag but again, used it because you have..
here you go anyway.. i made one flag shaped, not sure if thats what you had in mind.. 🙄

Gavin, if you cant imagine a flag being square then others probably can’t either, therfore it should get more notice. Just a thought !!

    Hi Martin/Rob!

Thanks for that rob, looks pretty neat.

Well Martin, I tried your tacktic and yes they have gone for a square flag 🙂

I’ll get it printed shortly, anyone know of the best supplier to buy printed flags off? I was just going to use Scanachrome…

    Gavin

We recently bought flags from Stevensons of Glasgow, great service, in all yellow pages for Scotland under flags.

Flag sizes are usually proportioned by a 2 to 1 ratio, ie 6 foot long x three foot high.

Flags attach to the pulley ropes by toggles so dont worry about fixing, just pull the rope tight and its fitted.

Beware of banner box for flags, he gave me costs I then looked elsewhere, Stevensons were cheaper for the flags but not the poles.

When I called back to bannerbox for the poles he told me the other flags would not be up to scratch. They were heavier and the same size as his but he was very pissed off with me.

When the poles came there was a great chip on the dome of one, when approached for a replacement he said to chop the top off with a saw and he would give me a new dome for it. Six poles and one was then going to be four inches short!

He could not understand I wanted a new one, blamed the courier company and all sorts, not my prob I said and boy was he angry.

In the end it was the customer kicking up a fuss over the delay that sorted the problem, rub down with the sander and a coat of white enamel fixed the pole, should have been replaced really but they were all six meters high so nobody will ever know.
