    I knwo this is gonna sounds pretty damn stupid to you lot.. but it intrigues me 🙂

    Ive recently bought a Pcut 630,a dn i know the basics of doing the single colour vinyl applciations.. (just)

    not venured into 2 colours yet, but i think ive got the hang of it..

    now the other day my car was in for a service, and I was given a new Nissan Note. (Quite a cool car), now this had basica vinyls on the sides of it, and on the rear doors were what looked like clear vinyl, that had been printed on..

    My question is, how is this done, and what sort of prices does the equipment start from? is it like a wet in technology, or is it more like a colour laser printer…

    As for the moment, this is beyond my realms of comprehension! :lol1:

    quote Chris Whitehead:

    and on the rear doors were what looked like clear vinyl, that had been printed on..

    Chances are that exactly what it was. As for costs to set up, two options often discussed on here are;

    1. Buy a used Roland PC60 or 600, approx £1500-£2000 but costly to run (I believe £50 per meter for full colour printing but someone with one will correct me here 😀 )

    or

    2. Buy a Roland Versacamm or Uniform Cadet (both same, different colour cases) for around 9k plus VAT but far cheaper to run (approx £7-10 plm i think).

    Personally when we move into digital print we’ll be going the option 2 route, just don’t have enough work of that ilk to warrent the equipment purchase yet though(but I’m working on it 😀 )

    Hope this helps, I’m by no means an expert in this field but thats soe basic info for you until someone else falls out of bed 😀 😀 😀

    Ahh

    So its basically printing onto, what is in effect a clear vinyl. I suppose it had to be a very simple answer..

    Thankfully I’ve no plans to be doing them sorts of jobs yet, so I’ll stick to doing my single colour ones for my friends 🙂

    Ian – I’ve not played all week, will try and catch you online sometime soon 🙂
