Another Email Scam: This time they even provided photos of the vehicle.

I have just gotten an email from the recovery now and he has confirmed he shall be coming in on Friday 26th of January by 11am, so he shall be bringing my Van to your shop at exactly 11am on that day for the measurement and quote.. Also i will need a little favor from you today, as i have not paid the recovery for delivery, i will be giving you my credit card now to put through for an amount of £1200.00 and you keep £200.00 as deposit for your service and have the remaining £1000.00 sent to the recovery via bacs.. As he had just informed me that he receives payment upfront, I really need you to help me do this today, so we can have him here as scheduled.
I wish to pay him directly but am sure you are aware that am still on Sea, but because he does not have an EFTPOS facility, there is no way i can pay him directly with my credit card, so this is why i need you to assist me with this today.. Kindly let me know if i can send you my credit card details for the transaction right away.. I await your urgent response..Kind Regards

I think the scam goes along the lines of, he needs to pay delivery for the van to you, he pays you, you pay the ‘shipper’… of course the shipper doesn’t exist, and the money finds it way to the scammer, I’m guessing the money comes from a stolen card or compromised bank account.

We just got another enquiry from Africa – apparently signage project for the University of Johannesburg – I’m sure we had one of these in the past and told them that we can’t serve them due to distance – there is 12mb zip file attachment with tender details – anyone else got it?
