Friday morning and we`d had a good week and I was looking forward to the weekend.

Until a mobile fast food customer came in.

He requires his trailer re lettering….

He requires specific pictures that depict the items he sells. Double cheese burgers with salad, but with a particular bun… etc etc.

"Can I see what pictures you have?"

No way was I going to sit there looking through all the food discs we have. I told him I was in the middle of doing something and if he left me a list of the items he wanted I`d email samples over.

"Oh I thought I`d be able to look through now" " Not impressed with the set up you have here" he added………

By this time I was boiling mad, I nearly went into hormonal b1tch mode.

Then the plonker said " How much are your signs?"

What, what size, what colour? Give me a bl00dy clue…..

"Just saying fast food, 4 ft long x 2ft high"

I just picked a price off the top of my head £xx

" Can I see it before I buy it?"

So you want us to make it first then you`ll decide if you want it?

"Oh don`t you have them already made?"

    (:) (:)

It was like that book shop scene from little Britain ….Why are we not allowed to hit these customers over the head with a spade.

It is the next morning and I`m still fuming over him… sorry for the rant.

    and me too! :lol1: :lol1:

as for the pictures. we have 30 odd DVD’s of food etc supplied by Kodak.
but as you said, the time involved is a nightmare.
what we do now is… if we have a customer that wants to be specific on which picture should be used on a menu or the like, we just send them an email with links to Fotolia.com & istock.com and tell them to send us links to the pictures they want us to use.

You should have pointed them in the direction of "Blue Peter Signs". I bet they would have had one made up ready to go that they had done earlier :lol1: :lol1:

And it would have been suitable as it would have been made using sticky back plastic :lol1:

i had one a few months ago wanted a new sign for her shop. i produced a proof for her to scale superimposed it on the building . She turned up one day and interrupted the job i was doing to see it on the computor . "thats fine she said "( while her terrier pissed on my floor …furthermore it also seemed to fined my right leg very attractive at the same time ) and off she went after choosing actual colours off the vinyl chart . Anyway job was done and she refused to pay saying that the sign did not look the same on the building as it did on the computor. well it wouldnt i said the one on the computor is only 40 mm yours is eight foot !!! thats the difference and that the colours on the comp would look totally different on the computor . Shes dead now sadly …buried in my back garden…..actually thats a lie shes actually part of the new fly over on the m90 ! 😀
