Am I printing on the right side? (Vinyl)
Hello guys,
I know I’m supposed to introduce myself to the community in which I will do at some point, however, I’ve managed to tackle the ‘PC-60’s ancient technology and have got it up and running without the need of ‘top-notch’ technicians. It is quite obvious, that if you can read you can get far especially when it comes to instruction manuals.
The PC-60 – Colour CAMM Pro, is the current machine I use for cutting and printing simple logos, signage, etc. Its the first machine we have to start into the industry, and its a huge learning curve too, so its definitely giving me knowledge of how these things work.
Problem is, I’ve managed to setup my laptop – windows XP and CorelDraw X3 – and got the machine printing and cutting without any issue. I’ve used both sides of the vinyl although I’m not quite sure which one is right for use as transfers – on to football shirts etc.
One side has been printed perfectly (this is the harder side, feels like a bouncy castle material, hard and strong) the tape ink has gone into it very nicely although there are white bands every CMs and a lot of faint ones too. The other side (Glossy, shiny, and rubbery/sticky) does not, and the ink has come out a little but looks smudged and almost like a crayola wax pen has gone over it.
I’m just wondering if I’m using the right vinyl side and that what I need to do after the vinyl has been printed on? Do I need to unpeel it and then heat press it or…is there other things you need to do?
I’m 17 by the way, and I help run the family business
Thanks so much!
Regards,
Callum.
