Air release vinyl…..
Apart from the 3M 1080 series and the Arlon UPP range (which have just tried and really liked!), are there any other car wrap films that have the air release system / of similar spec to the above? I have a customer that wants his VW Caddy wrapping in something a bit different to the norm so trying to offer him as many options as possible.

Avery Supreme is available with "Easy Apply" air release adhesive

Hexis have their Hexpress range of cast wrapping films with air release.. not tried the matt finish but the gloss finish is simular to 1080.

Air flow – air release – rapidair – easy apply – etc etc etc
wrap media you use.
Only a few are are actually "warranted for recessed areas".3M 1080 is not warranted for commercial vehicle recessed areas.
Avery Supreme is warranted, but have their own patented adhesive system.
Arlon have just launched their new wrap with air release, Arlon do warrant this media but like 3M & Avery, they but have specific application methods for recesses. (UKSB will cover more on that soon)
KPMF and Hexis are same i believe… but my knowledge is limited on both these new films, but again… specific application methods are required.
As a rule of thumb, do not use air channel type adhesive systems in a recessed area. if you wish to try any of the above, speak with a "knowledgeable / technical" person within the company and also request spec sheets, downloads or even videos if they are available. "before you give them a go"… theres no point buying them in, doing the norm and then complaining later because it failed.

Hexis have a great range of colours, but make sure you post heat the hell out of all recessed areas immediately after application of those recesses.
Avery Supreme would now be my first choice though, same price or slightly cheaper than 3M I believe (and agree with Rob on warranty)
