    Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is in the right place. Please move if needed.

I am trying to open an Adobe Illistrator file in Corel 12 and it’s coming through broken up. What’s the best file to export it as from Illy to Corel 12?

How do you mean – broken up? V12 is a fairly old version now but it did a fairly good job on vector AI files if not saved at too higher version.

    Hi Alan,

I no it’s pretty old 😳 . The template is coming through fine but where it should be is one piece it is broken up with a few gaps so you can’t fill with a colour or put outlines etc round it. Hope this makes sense.

Do you mean that it has vertical lines cutting through it?
That happens to me sometimes in both GA and Corel 12.
Or do you think that it might be some sort of gradient fill in the file?
Or could the file not be saved in an earlier version?

The vertical lines were an issue when exporting from Corel with ‘simulate complex fills’ clicked on, deselct that and problem was sorted – does Illustrator have a similar option?
