HI all i have just joined this site after reading how helpful you all seem to be, i have been in printing since about 2005 and have just brought myself a roland vs540 after many years outsourcing. i now would like to make banners in house but its a minefield as to what banner media to print on and of course what tapes to use.

So i would welcome any suggestions

i have samples from print max of banner media anyone have any good or bad comments or other suggestions?

banner hemming tape im looking for either 25 or 50mm but i want some good stuff.

    best wishes shane

    Hi Shane,

re: banner tape, I get mine from Metamark – (Tesa brand). Not the cheapest but I did previously try another supplier/brand (sorry can’t remember which), that completely failed, so worth paying a bit extra for.

    hope helps.

If you fold your hems this stuff is awesome…using it for several years REALLY sticky.

If it’s the thick hem fabric – dunno, don’t use it!

ps. for banner media we go through LOADS of SOYANG front lit 440gsm – it’s a middle weight, prints great and the cheapest you can get anywhere if bought direct….so cheap you might actually think it’s priced wrong.

You can get some really nice stuff from the likes of Wm Smith or Metamark but it’s for banners and a fabulous one does the same job as a cheaper one…but you make more money.
