advice poorly easymount laminator.
Been doing a regular laminating job and at the end of the day the rollers started jumping, only when the rollers touched.
I’ve removed the cover from the left side to discover the drive chain from the roller cog to the smaller cog that drives the take up has stretched… Almost looks like I need to take a Link out.
Anybody else experienced this?
just curious as to what the threaded end of the take up is for? I’ve never had cause to use it but I am thinking maybe I am doing something wrong as the chain surely shouldn’t stretch that much

Hi David
The chain should have a tensioning cog, this can be moved further out to put tension back on the chain – they often come loose and slip, not likley to be the chain stretching. We’ve had it happen 2-3 times and it causes the jumping as the chain slips. Just slacken it off, move it out and tighten back up again.

The chain hasn’t stretched, there is a tensioner that you can adjust.
A while back I left a pen on an ACM panel going through ours and when we put the next panel through the roller jumped.
I took the panel off and it was just a case of the chain had become slack, I adjusted it back up and it’s been fine since. -
On the larger cog there are 2 allen key bolts, which screw through the got into a channel in the spindle. This would allow the large cog to move out. There’s a similar system on the smaller cog but this goes into a plastic bar?
Other than than I dunno?

my guess looking at the drawing is the motor moves out wards to adjust the chain may be way off the mark with out seeing it.
look to see if there are any marks where the motor was sitting and sliped moved abit

Chris that’s exactly what had happened. I came in this morning and with fresh eyes could see where the motor had slipped.
A little damage to one of the screw heads though where the chain has been rubbing against it… so I have moved the cogs out a little to prevent further damage.
Just got another box full of laminating to do for tomorrow 😮
