  • Advice on VersaCamm poor print quality please?

Posted by Stephen Ingham on 4 April 2011 at 09:19

Hi all, i wonder if anyone can shed some light on a problem i seem to have developed?

Versacamm sp300; sometimes the edge of the print seems to have a blur or as if the head is travelling too fast….if that makes sense?

I did try to take a snap of it but the quality of the photo isn’t even clear enough to make out what the picture is supposed to be…

All help and advice is much appreciated

    Cheers
    stephen

sounds like the encoder strip is dirty at the point the print is blurred.

Hi Chris, is that something i can fix myself or is it an engineer job?

    Cheers

sorry short of time, at the mo – the strip is quite delicate and if you are unsure then please get a engineer.

do a search for cleaning encoder strip i am sure lots will come up.

sounds like static to me mate, Connect a wire to any large area of metal on the machine and then to another metal area such as garage door metal windows light earth etc also check to see if your dx4 printhead has a metal (copper colour) flat piece of metal that sits through the top end and touches the print head frame most replacement printheads dont have them but original should if not add a bit of metal or wire to the screw and touch the metal print carriage holder. Solved my issues way back 🙂

HAVE NOT GOT A PICTURE BUT IT COMES THROUGH HERE[/url]
