It was mentioned a couple of weeks ago Graham when someone asked about a desktop printer, don’t think there was a lot of info about it just that someone had seen it at the sign show.

I am told that it is in the region of 5k, seems a lot for a desktop printer, must do some amazing tricks at that price, I have also been told it is now available, suppliers of media have come up with 20inch printable vinyl, which I understand does not require lamination and is supposed to be good for 3 years, but in Scotalnd 2 weeks ?

I’m guessing it is a solvent printer then Graham, any solvent printer supplier will tell you that the prints are good outdoor for 3 years without lamination but the truth is without lamination then anything on a vehicle will probably last less due to the way they are washed. The laminate acts more as an abrasion resistant rather than UV.

5K would be about the price I would expect going by the price of new larger machines and some of the desktop flatbed solvent printers on the market.

Oh and in Scotland it’s only 3 days not 2 weeks :lol1: :lol1:

Graham the BN20 was announced / launched last week on the Roland.com website, as of yet no price has been confirmed.

    Graham
it is basically a baby printer to their bigger series of printers aimed at the apparel market hence the 500mm width (common size for Tshirt media). However it uses same inks & media as the larger machines so is capable of producing outdoor graphics

Ian if you bought 220ml carts then I would say around the £5,750 + Vat, however VersaWorks has been added to the package along with a higher print speed which for CMYK should be around 2 sqm per hour.
