  • Advice on selling printer

After a few months of being unable to move forward with getting my JV33 sorted out, I need to make a decision on whether to get the head replaced and then sell, or whether to sell with the old head (which was still printing fine).

The printer hasn’t been used since December, although it is still plugged in, cycling and printing the occasional nozzle test.

I just wondered what advice anyone can offer?

I have had rather a lot go on recently hence neglecting to come to a sensible decision, just don’t know which way to turn, really.

Are you planning to replace it with something else? In which case you may be able to get a good part exchange deal with a vendor. If just looking to sell and get rid of it I would try offering it as it stands rather than spend anything more on it

Hi Phil, I already had a great deal on a new printer and wasn’t able to PX too. I am not sure whether a purchaser would want to have a new head fitted themselves, even if they are getting a great bargain, or if it will be easier to sell with a new head.

Depending on how quickly you are looking to sell really! I’d get it listed as it stands right now on eBay and see how you get on for a few weeks!

I sold my last printer with a new head fitted. Old head had poor results. The chap came and had a look at the printer. Printer was in good shape. I had the head changed. He arrived next day after head was changed, paid and collected.

The printer is in great shape itself, just the magenta has lost some nozzles. I just don’t know if it is worth the outlay to get a new head, or if the hit with the old one is going to be massive!

I’ll sleep on it (again!) and re-think tomorrow.

    Thanks guys.
